  • Immunizations or Declination

Minimum Age: Must be at least 17 years of age (applicants under 18 require written permission from a parent or legal guardian).

State Exam Requirements: 1 Exam—The Radiation Health & Safety (RHS) exam administered by DANB. We cover the cost.

Radiography: Required in Arizona for Dental Assistants to hold a radiography certification. RHS Exam – Radiation Health & Safety (Administered by DANB—we cover the cost).

Credentials on Completion:

  • “Certificate of Completion”
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification—Certified through the American Heart Association

Background Check Guidance: As part of our program, students apply for and take the RHS exam administered by DANB. Prospective students with a felony should contact DANB directly to confirm eligibility for the RHS exam. Passing the RHS exam is required in Arizona to perform radiography duties, but is not required to enroll or complete our program.

If DANB determines a student is ineligible for the RHS exam due to a felony, they may still complete the program. Upon graduation, they earn the title of Dental Assistant but cannot perform radiography duties or hold the title of Radiation Health and Safety approved dental assistant.
